![]() Rating: - One of the best Superman stories out thereI'm by no means a big Superman fan. I've always found him to be kind of boring, his enemies to be somewhat disinteresting and the character himself to be overpowered and unappealing. However, I have to say, I love this book. Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale have made a very accessible, fun and overall excellent Superman story by retelling his first year as Superman, going from Smallville to Metropolis. Loeb and Sale have made some excellent stories in the past together i.e. The Long Halloween, ... I give one star to the book because of the art, which is not particulary good regarding characters, but the backgrounds are just fantastic. Regarding the plot, it turned out to be to slow for me. I think it is a little overated and the only reason why it is so popular is because of its creators, Loeb and Sale. The story line is not the best, Although I did enjoy the illistrations. This year takes him to Metropolis where he does well enough as Superman but struggles find his footing with the gigantic role he has taken on. As the name of the book suggests, it is broken down into the four seasons of the year with each season getting a different narrator (Pa Kent, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor and Lana Lang). These narrators, along ... Read More Rating: - Beautiful IllustrationsThe reason I give this four stars is because of the beautiful illustrations. Love the old-style Superman and pictures of Smallville and Metropolis. Artwork is tremendous! Now, for the story, I do not really like. Everything up to Metropolis was just wonderful. But then Superman battles some of the weirdest villains, some guy that can make people do stuff and then Lex Luther has the most insane plot I ever heard to then force Superman out of Metropolis. Lois Lane is beautiful in this book but unfortunately ... Read More Superman for All Seasons Buy superhero comic book collectibles at the Superhero Mall! |
