Editorial Review: Product Description: Pregnancy is a most important time for a woman to maintain her physical strength and stamina and PRENATAL YOGA is a perfect way to keep in shape. These gentle exercises are clearly detailed by instructor Shiva Rea according to Yoga Journal's Prenatal Yoga guidelines. Maintain the energy and stamina which will be needed in the delivery room along with the concentration that comes with the practice of yoga. Different techniques are applicable to each trimester of pregnancy and this fifty minute video is geared for every level of yoga practitioner.System Requirements:Running Time 60 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: HEALTH/FITNESS Rating: NR UPC: 029956088825 Manufacturer No: 120-1269 Amazon.com: The best thing about this prenatal yoga program is that there is a model for each trimester. Instructor Shiva Rea demonstrates each of the stretches and exercises for the first trimester, and two pregnant women show modifications for the second and third trimesters (they're even dressed in different colors for easy reference). This removes the self-doubt home-exercisers often have about the safety of certain moves--especially in that cumbersome final stage of pregnancy. Using gentle voice-over instruction, Rea and her assistants take viewers through a half hour of meditational stretches using blocks and chairs for support. She follows that up with 16 minutes of floor work: lunge pose, bridge pose, child's pose, plank pose--all with the necessary adjustments. She winds things up with a four-minute guided relaxation on her back--the traditional position--with the second-trimester woman on her side and the third on her side with one leg up on a chair. By including the different adaptations, Rea has made a program with the flexibility to carry an expectant mom through her entire pregnancy--and beyond, if she wishes. --Kimberly Heinrichs Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great DVDWe liked the DVD and we really liked that it only took a few days to get to us. Great seller.Great price and this seller is recommended. Rating: - Don't understand the popularityI brought this DVD based on the MANY recommendations and was very disappointed. It is slow, boring and unchallenging. The instructor is sooooo annoying and talks in an over-the-top soft "earth mother" voice. Instead try the Sarah Hollidays prenatal series, Perfect Pregnancy Workout Vol 2. Yoga or Christine Andersons prenatal yoga DVD. Rating: - Not the best...I had high hopes when I bought this DVD, but it is lacking one essential thing -- time! I feel like I am being rushed through each exercise, which to me is not the purpose of yoga. I guess I am supposed to memorize each move and then go back and do them on my own??? Still looking for the perfect prenatal DVD! Rating: - Not too annoyingI really liked this lady, and felt like I would like her in person too. She was very kind and didn't seem unrealistically perfect, or act annoyingly spiritual or mystical about everything. The outfits were not very flattering, but overall this was a good yoga workout. I'm not a super big fan of yoga, but this was way better than the other yoga DVD I tried (yoga for your pregnany with kristen eykel). Still Denise Austin's fit and firm pregnancy is my all around favorite. Rating: - Great for all skill levelsI love this prenatal yoga dvd. As someone who has practiced yoga for 6 years I was looking for a dvd that would be challenging in terms of the poses but not a major "vinyasa" cardio workout. I use this dvd in the morning before I go to work to stretch, relax and get rid of my morning sickness. This dvd has 3 sections which make it easy to break up if you don't have the full 50 minutes. It had some new poses I wasn't familiar with that made it fun and exciting. It also focuses on many poses that ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
