A winning family film from the people who brought you ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD, THE BIG GREEN will elicit big grins from the whole family! Nothing ever happens in Elma, Texas ... at least not until British schoolteacher Anna Montgomery (Olivia d'Abo of THE WONDER YEARS) arrives. Determined to motivate her students, Anna decides to form a soccer team. She enlists the aid of out-of-shape sheriff Tom Palmer (Steve Guttenberg, THREE MEN AND A BABY), who agrees to coach the team so he can beat his old nemesis, the ruthless coach of the big city bullies, the Knights. THE BIG GREEN scores with parents as well as with kids, who learn the importance of being a team player ... and a good sport! Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Little Giants - football + futbol = The Big GreenLet's be honest. You already know the beginning, middle, and end to this movie. You know it even if you haven't watched it. Nonetheless, is an enjoyable, albeit incredibly predictable Disney sports flick. Basically, it's Little Giants with a European translation of Football. When the film begins, an attractive, teacher named Anna Montgomery (Olivia d'Abo) arrives in a small town as a visiting teacher - sort of a teaching abroad half-year deal from England, but without the bad teeth. ... Rating: - Good Soccer MovieThis movie is very entertaining. My daughter really enjoyed it since she plays soccer and could relate to the kids learning to play and be a team. Lots of slap-stick comedy that anyone would enjoy. Rating: - Not a good movie for boysWhile looking for a movie that would have good role models for boys, I had high hopes for this one, but it's typically Disney. The stupid, petty, and poor players are boys, and the smart, "good", and athletic players are girls. This is not a good movie if you looking for role models to be examples for young boys Rating: - Snore-fest...So boring! Totally predictable--your average "feel good" sports movie. A new teacher arrives in a small town and decides to teach the misfit kids that inhabit it soccer. They're horrible when they first try. She then announces to them that their first game is the next day (I believe... i know the game is soon). They're all worried. They lose to the "Knights" (see? predictable NAME too). Somehow they end up in the finals, against the Knights again. They defeat them and receive a huge trophy that ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
