- BewareI used one of these for a year in Iraq and never had a problem with it, however when I purchased one to use in the States, I was very disappointed. I needed it to power a 230 volt air conditioner that draws a max of 1800 watts. Even though this transformer is rated at 3000 watts, the circuit breaker would trip every time I tried to use the air conditioner. - BewareFirst I gave this 2 stars becouse of the 5 that I bought only 2 work. They are heavy and work well if they work, but that is spotty. 2 of the 5 did not work out of the box. The other stopped working after a power outage. I live in Africa, I get about 2 power outages a day. After the 3rd one broke I took off the cover and poked around inside for a fuse, or something, the wiring appears to have been done by a 3 year old.
