Editorial Review:

Description:
A superdog from Planet Krypton, who comes to earth after traveling across the galaxies as a test pilot puppy aboard a malfunctioning rocket ship built by Superman's father. Years later, when the rocket finally reaches Earth, Krypto is a full-grown dog. With no family, he finds a new friend in a young boy named Kevin Whitney, who soon realizes that Kypto has superpowers. With the help of Kevin, Ace the Bathound (Batman's caped canine), Streaky the neighbor's cat, and the superpets in the Dog Star Patrol, Krypto responds to the call of duty, embarking on adventures to save those in need. Volume 1 includes 5 episodes in the order in which they aired: Krypto's Scrypto 1, Krypto's Scrypto 2, Super Flea, A Bug's Strife, Meet the Dog Stars

Amazon.com:
The canine member of the Superman family got his own Cartoon Network series in 2005, and the first volume, Cosmic Canine, is a random collection of five 12-minute episodes (including the two-part opener). We meet Krypto, the pet of Kal-El who was also sent to Earth before Krypton exploded and who discovers the Earth's yellow sun gives him amazing powers such as flight, strength, and heat vision. The opener features a cameo by Superman, long enough to agree to Krypto's staying with an Earth boy named Kevin. Krypto's challenges include saving a ship full of zoo animals, battling a Kryptonian superflea, dealing with a giant caterpillar, and saving a helpless (or so he thinks) kitten from a pack of super-powered dogs called the Dog Stars. Krypto's contributing talent includes Alan Burnett and Paul Dini of the well-regarded Superman and Batman animated series, but it's aimed at a much younger crowd. (Ages 4 to 8: mild cartoon-animal peril) --David Horiuchi

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Kids love Krypto
We happened across this program one Sunday on TV. Kids really liked it, but apparently show was no longer in syndication. They enjoy watching the super-hero dog, Krypto. I'd rate it G.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - We love SuperDog!
We caught some older episdoes of Krypto and recorded them on Tivo for the kids and they loved them so much that we had to buy some on DVD. THEY WON'T LET US PLAY ANY THING ELSE! Please put more episodes on DVD and SOON!! We love the story lines!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Cute Little Series
Krypto proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Paul Dini's brilliance cannot be contained even by the strict rules slapped upon writing children's programming. Fans of his previous DC comics character works (Batman & Superman the Animated Series, Justice League, etc.) need to realize that Krypto caters to children between the ages of 4 and 8. And while it is certainly a step toward simplicity when compared to his prior works, the entire series really isn't far off from what Hanna Barbara was ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Genious
Krypto the Superdog is a really good way to get the younger kids to love super heroes from the start. The whole show has the perfect technique to appeal children and hook that super hero lust for life. It's a masterpiece!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A new classic
This show is trully classic, Paul Dini (writer of the well known Batman, Superman and Justice League cartoons) is part of the project and it shows. Unlike the shows mentioned earlier this show is for young kids, however it is written very well that an adult can sit through the episodes and enjoy them. The whole show feels retro, fromt he theme song to the episode splash. The show so far has also gotten development and keeps getting better with a big cast of supporting characters, from his owner Kevin ... Read More
