Marvel Comics' armor-clad superhero Iron Man gets another update in this animated feature, which incorporates much of his mythology in its energetic storyline. Here, millionaire Tony Stark (voiced by Marc Worden, who performed similar duties for Marvel's Ultimate Avengers and its sequel) is inspired to create his iconic suit after being injured at an archaeological dig in China. His heroic alter ego isn't the only thing to arise from the dig; the ancient city harbors a quartet of elemental spirits, who seek to resurrect the Mandarin and continue his reign of evil. Hardcore Marvel fans may decry some of the deviations from the original Iron Man text (Stark's father Howard is alive and well in the feature, and the suits are already in development by the time Stark is injured), but the prevalence of numerous figures from the source material (in addition to the Mandarin, there's James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, Pepper Potts, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Wong Chu, and glimpses of several incarnations of the Iron Man suit) and the overall vigor of the story and the quality of the 2-D and 3-D animation should please most viewers, and makes for an enjoyable alternative to the impressive 2008 live-action film. Extras include a making-of featurette which discusses Stark's 1960s origins in the comic book and the direction taken in the movie, as well as a terrific gallery of Shellhead's various suits worn throughout his storied career. A glimpse at Marvel's next animated feature--Doctor Strange--is also included. Note for parents: The Invincible Iron Man contains some intense violence and implied nudity, so discretion should be taken before screening for very young viewers. --Paul Gaita

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yes, I DO know it's Animated!
I don't usually review movies, but the one thing I hate about the internet is that it gives every stupid a-hole with too much time on their hands a voice. I hate scrolling to the reviews section, and seeing anything but reviews. Instead I find silly stupid aliterate people giving poor ratings to things for reasons that have nothing to do with the actual product!!

So, I decided to give this 5 stars, to offset all the negative "reviews". First off, I know this is animated. I can clearly ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Rent It Or Watch The New Cartoon
I can't say I am an IRONMAN afficionado, but I do like the cartoons and can even remember the 1960's animated show growing up. The 1990's series was well-done and even the youngster version on now (IRONMAN: ARMORED ADVENTURES) are both worth seeing. Unfortunately, that's not the case with this DVD/Blu-Ray (I have the regular DVD). Considering how well the IRONMAN movie did, this animated version was a big disappointment.

First, the origins of Ironman theme is slow building. Second, the ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Misleading Title and Packaging
They purposely made "The Invincible" very small type and emphasized "Ironman" on the packaging. It's very hard to distinguish this video from the movie "IronMan". I bought the wrong title and am very disappointed.

I only made it through 3 minutes of this movie - it absolutely sucks!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The Invincible Iron Man Blu Ray
What a waste of blu ray space. The story itself is garbage, it's so boring i was falling asleep and i Do NOT fall asleep when i watch my movies. Animation is drawn well but that is no excuse for how boring it is.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Iron Man video not so invincible
I am a big fan of Ironman but this video was not action from start to finish and strayed from original story. It did have some exciting and intriging moments though.
