- A somewhat enchanting albumAfter the huge success of The Broadway Album, no one could blame Barbra for wanting to release a sequel, and due to its debut at #1, the public was more than willing to go along for the ride. In its own right, this is a good album. But as a sequel to a blockbuster, as expected, it was not as successful nor as good.
While the material on The Broadway Album was full of inspired singing, some of the singing this time around just comes across as blah (though she sounded as good as ever). ... Read More

- Loving the Rests of OurselvesIn mid-1968, damaged by the drunk Elia Kazan directing Natalie and Mr. Beatty, I believed Barbra was in danger of losing her marriage and betraying her talent by getting too involved with making movies. She pointed out to me that she could go back to broadway and spared me from learning more horrible details than I might have been able to have lived through about such matters as Laurette Taylor's diseased and wrong appearances in a (possibly still so-called) great play. Even if you are not a fan of Barbra Streisand, if you love musical tune,
you will love it for sure!
Her voice is so wonderful on this album, and the songs are beautiful too!

- Broadway and Barbra . can't go wrongJust got back from the REAL THING. . Barbra in Chicago. . never though that would happen, but if you weren't so lucky to see her on her tour, her albums are a wonderful reminder of what an instrument this woman's voice is. . .I think she is the best singer in modern history and she's still going strong. If you love Broadway and you love BABS, then buy this album. Especially wonderful are the duets with Michael Crawford and Johnny Mathis, but Barbra on her own is incredible. ENJOY
