I've used pro-license Adobe and Macromedia(now owned by Adobe) products for 9 years now. So I have experience with some of the more complex features of Photoshop. Now with that being said, I'll also mention that not everyone needs to create filters, masks, layers, merge, alpha-transparency, 3D integration, or web and mobile phone optimization. I know this product is powerful cause I have seen what it can do but it's difficult to navigate and learn the product. Especially for the price. It really should be more user friendly. I only used it for Photos and haven't even tried the video part yet.

My son studied film editing in college, created a music video which made it to the web, and prepares special features for a large church in the Phoenix area. Pros: Nice amount of features, pretty interface, simple once you get used to it

Cons: Crashes constantly on Vista, Some features require you to "upgrade" to a Photoshop.com account (like menu themes!), some features work sometimes and sometimes don't (like effects on text, it will allow you to add them to some but not others with no explanation!), resource hog (on a 3ghz Core2Duo w/ 4 gigs RAM)
