One of 2008's most hotly anticipated album releases, I Am..Sasha Fierce marks the artist's first new studio collection since the Grammy-winning multi-platinum-selling B'Day debuted at #1 on charts around the world shortly after its international release on September 4, 2006. With all songs co-written and co-produced by Beyonc‚, the artist's third studio album is her most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date. 11 tracks. Amazon.com: (Amazon.co.uk Review) The latest outing from former Destiny's Child starlet Beyoncé is an intentionally schizophrenic affair. Splitting herself into two separate characters--herself and alter ego Sasha Fierce--is the artist's way of presenting what she obviously sees as an artistic duality. The first set, I Am..., is intended give a glimpse beneath the surface of her usual R&B-pop persona. Featuring recent single “If I Was a Boy", the soaring “Halo", and ballads like “Disappear", and “Ave Maria", it seems her “real" self is way more saccharine than the lady that brought us sassy pop moments like “Crazy in Love" and “Baby Boy". That side of her personality comes rushing back out on Sasha Fierce, a more rousing collection that kicks off with the infectious handclaps of “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", ventures into Euro-dance territory with “Radio", and gets surprisingly risque with the voyeuristic “Video Phone". Which part of the album you enjoy most will depend on your musical proclivities, but the new, bifurcated Beyoncé ensures there's enough diversity to satisfy the most demanding pop aficionado. --Danny McKenna Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - PUT-A-RING-ON-IT!Great music. I especially like Shoulda Put A Ring On It and If I Were A Boy. This CD made great stocking stuffers for young adults on my list. Rating: - Double CD Double BombI'm so glad I only paid 1/2 price for this double CD. And maybe that was too much. There are only about 3 cuts in total that are worth listening to. I just expected more from a super star like Beounce. Rating: - Beyonce CDWhen I received this Beyonce CD in the mail, the CD case was cracked and damaged. Rating: - An insult to fansI don't know where to begin. It's all a bit too try hard, especially DIVA where she comes across very obnoxious. I'm disappointed. Single Ladies and Sweet Dreams are the only songs I can stand. The rest are too bland to listen too. As they say in the hood, Puff Puff Pass! Rating: - Why do R&B fans not recognize true talent anymore? If you are reading this trying to decide whether or not to buy this album, don't. I would like to recommend 3 excellent albums as an alternative-Janet Jackson's 2008 "Discipline", Toni Braxton's 2005 "Libra", and Deborah Cox's 2008 "The Promise". I went online and listened to samples of all the tracks from Beyonce's "Sasha Fierce",and they were all so trite and bland-totally left me with the impression that people only buy this album because 'hey, it's Beyonce!' I seriously don't get why crap like ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
