Editorial Review:

Album Description:
singer/songwriter/producer, Akon burst out of the starting gates with the winningly melodic and compulsively danceable single "Right Now (Na Na Na)." The song is sparking up the charts in a record-setting pace that's familiar to Akon's millions of fans worldwide. "Right Now (Na Na Na)" is the lead track from Akon's 3rd upcoming album FREEDOM. The infectious song is the #1 Most Added at Rhythm Crossover radio stations in its first week of release. FREEDOM features collaborations with Hip- Hop's "man of the hour" Lil Wayne ("I'm So Paid") and Akon's platinum artist T-Pain ("Holla Holla"). Akon broke out on the music scene in 2004 with the platinum album TROUBLE that featured singles, "Locked Up" and "Lonely." He returned in 2006 with the triple-platinumcertified KONVICTED CD. The Senegalese native broke chart history in 2007 as the first artist to simultaneously hold the #1 ("I Wanna Love You") and #2 ("Smack "That") positions on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart twice. He went on to become Billboard Magazine's Top Artist of 2007, the #2 Hot 100 Producer of the Year, and #2 Hot 100 Songwriter of the year.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic Album
I enjoyed this album a lot. It has a lot of heart and it gives you a good feeling when you listen to it because it is so real. I think Akon out did himself tenfold. I hope his next album is as good as FREEDOM.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointing!
This album is very disappointing. Akon's first two albums were 5 stars in my book but this album is horrible. Every song sounds the same and is about the same thing. There is no heart or feeling in the songs like the other albums. It seems like Akon just threw this album together in a few hours. Before this album I would have considered any Akon album a must have but this one is just GARBAGE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Akon
THis album is good. I was skeptical of purchasing this album. WHen I purchased this album, I was feeling it. This album marked a growth in Akon's career. This album exemplifies the more dance-friendly side of Akon. This does not mean he has abandoned his hip-hop roots. The key is to take the album's vibe to the light from the dark.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Enjoyable Album, Though Flawed - 3 Stars
FREEDOM is essentially another enjoyable AKON album, if not as potent as the triple-platinum, Grammy-nominated KONVICTED. It lacks the overall character of that album and written all over it is a persona that is underrated. That persona may be accurate as the first week sales of KONVICTED and FREEDOM differed about 173,000 copies (KONVICTED opened at #2 with 284,000 while FREEDOM opened cooler at #7 with 111,000 copies). However, the cooler reception that FREEDOM has received does deal with a number ... Read More
